DIABETES
According to WHO data, Indonesia ranks
fourth largest in number of patients with Diabetes Mellitus in the world. In
the year 2000, there are an estimated 5.6 million people in Indonesia who have
diabetes.
However, in 2006 estimated the number of
diabetics in Indonesia increased sharply to 14 million people, of which only 50
percent are aware they have it and among only about 30 percent who come
regularly for treatment.
A chronic disease which is accompanied
hyperglycemia as a result of metabolic disorders, especially disorders of
carbohydrate metabolism
